I worked for the UK side Cineworld for 18 years. At first it seemed good but after the technical staff were laid off which made sense with all the new technology, upper management seemed to start a never ending campaign of hate against the lower staff. Everyone loved in fear of their jobs and every year a big group would be laid off and replaced by lower paid staff with the job title changed. Things got worse when mookey greidinger took over and their were a lot more comments of women belonging in the kitchen. They bought a smaller chain Picturehouse and have already started laying off people and replacing their management with their friends. So many said they suddenly found themselves being written up for something they hadn't done. My advice to my American friends is that everything they are doing to you they have done to us. Get out before they ruin you like I'm sure they are ruining regal

The primary issue lies in the disconnect between local management and corporate HR, specifically regarding off-boarding and payroll accuracy. I submitted a formal two-week notice which was reportedly never filed by my manager. This resulted in an "ineligible for rehire" status despite my following all proper protocols. Furthermore, communication from Corporate is inconsistent and contradictory. I was told both that my notice was received but my two weeks were incomplete, and then later told that no notice was submitted at all. Even with physical proof of attendance (after a manager failed to adjust a manual clock-in as promised) and proof of the submitted notice, Corporate refused to correct the record.
