Let me first address the elephant in the room. We had a layoff. People who were let go are understandably angry, worried, confused, and I'm sure the list of emotions goes on. It was not a mass layoff though--a term that means a 1/3 workforce reduction. That's not what happened here. I think what past reviewers fail to acknowledge is that Relay Payments is a young startup. They've been around for 4 years but have only had employees for 2. If it seems like we're still trying to figure stuff out, it's because we are. We are a proverbial toddler that's learning and growing. If you are considering working here, take some time to reflect if you find a constant state of development frustrating or inspiring. Knowing what you want is half the battle!
