Vantaggi
-Good 401k (6% match + 6% profit sharing). -Great office location in the Woodlands (for those that live there). -Great work-life balance (definitely work here if all you care about is collecting a paycheck). -Good young talent (for now). -A lot of activity (for exploration side only).
Svantaggi
-As others have said, noncompetitive pay for non manager/higher up levels (who were hired from other companies since nobody who started at Repsol stays). -Non-existent career progression (whole "new model" was revealed early 2017 and quickly hushed because people starting figuring out it was just for show). -If you are not a native Spanish speaker, unfortunately you will miss a lot and this is not the place for you. (career progression now also depends on Spanish ability) -"Transparency" and "Respect", two of the company motto's are nonexistent, literally the most secretive and condescending company you could work for. -Difficult to have continuation of ideas/projects when technical staff is leaving (or looking to leave) every week, some of whom are key people. -Huge barrier between exploration and business unit, no cooperation. -Some technical staff are just quitting, without a a job to go to, showing that they would rather not have a job than work here. -P&O (HR) has all the control, leaving managers and team leaders unable to make any sort of personnel decisions. -Employee climate surveys are very bad, so much so that the company has quit showing the results. -Young professionals have received ridiculous "raises" the past 5 years, 1-2% increase in base pay (while cutting bonus by 5% gross pay) is NOT a raise. -Would be careful about accepting a management position here, the people below you are just waiting for when they can leave. -Company promotes based on your connections, if you do not report to someone in Madrid (or from) with some pull then good luck.
