Insane Turnover. No growth - Recensione dipendente - Employee presso ResQ

Around 18 months ago, ResQ secured $40M in funding during a Series A round. Despite doubling its headcount, the company has not experienced any significant growth in revenue. The leadership team spent three months hiring additional employees in hopes of increasing revenue, but eventually realized that the company burn was out of hand. Consequently, a mass layoff occurred, which included two engineers that the company spent months trying to recruit. Since then, employees have been let go every few weeks, despite being told that finances are stable and celebrating new achievements at all hands. Even senior leaders have been terminated or replaced, causing skepticism about the company's future. 4/7 leaders have been let go or replaced in just 2 years. Glassdoor reviews should be taken with a grain of salt. I hope we don’t do this anymore but when I was hired I was asked to leave a positive review on Glassdoor. ResQ prefers to hire customer success candidates from the hospitality industry, but the lack of experience in running a tech company. A high rate of burnout, long hours, and a revolving door summarizes their experience. I’ve seen my fair share of people crying at work. Some employees do not even update their LinkedIn profiles due to the short length of their employment. The company's frugal approach to hiring has resulted in the recruitment of mostly entry-level candidates, making it challenging to hire senior employees due to low salaries. The most disappointing aspect of the company is the loss of talented employees with no plans to replace them, leaving gaps that the Biz Ops team is expected to fill despite their lack of experience in tech and product. There are many questions about their ability to fulfill their roles. Additionally, career progression is slow, and there is no CS progression ladder. On the product side, there are only two levels of progression: junior or senior, with a slow transition to senior roles. Salary increases are limited and follow a complicated system. The back to office policy is non negotiable despite some employees initially hired with the promise of being fully remote. Perks at ResQ are slowly disappearing, and the promised monthly and quarterly events are exaggerated. Friday lunches were replaced by a KitchenMate machine. One of the best perks was ResQ long weekend where we got an extra day off once a month. This was replaced with unlimited vacation, which it turns out isn’t even unlimited. If an employee takes more than a prorated three-week amount of vacation and leaves before the end of the year, their pay will be docked. This policy was not clearly communicated until 6 months later after some employees had their pay docked for "taking too much vacation".
