When I started at Reveal, I didn't have a concrete idea of where I wanted to go in terms of my career. Reveal has provided me with numerous opportunities to test out 1) what I'm good at, 2) what I enjoy, 3) what area of the business I can envision myself long-term. Leadership is invested not only in my professional growth but in my personal growth as well. Truly, I didn't know the kind of company culture I wanted until I had it. In the corporate world, the 'family' is typically a red flag; but there really isn't a better word to describe the culture here. During team meetings, there is always a balance of work-related discussions (upcoming projects, HR updates, etc.) as well as light-hearted conversations about things such as our fantasy football league. Colleagues get together outside of work because we simply enjoy hanging out with each other. One of the biggest things I love about Reveal Group is the emphasis they place on taking care of their employees. Leadership does its best to provide us with opportunities to push ourselves professionally, and they also encourage us to take vacation leave. It's not a competitive environment, which is vastly different than what I've experienced in other places. I've reached out to leadership before and told them I was struggling with my mental health. Their first concern was not whether my work quality was going to suffer or how long I was going to be gone; they asked what they could do to support me. They told me that if I needed to take a step back, they would find a way to cover my workload. I could go on and on about the culture and career opportunities, but I don't think I'd ever stop writing because I truly cannot say enough good things about this company. It's a place I'm very proud to work for.

Several members of the leadership team are in Australia, which can make communication difficult because of the time difference. Trying to operate as a global company is getting more difficult as the North American company grows, and it seems like the people in Australia are sometimes out of touch with things happening here. While I do feel valued by the team, it sometimes feels like favoritism is shown towards certain people; and some people are put under more pressure than others. Fostering career growth is a priority but it's often done solely by giving feedback on what could have been done better. Achievements and jobs well done are recognized but as frequently as they could be. While the compensation is competitive, the health insurance is great, and the amount of PTO is fair; the discretionary 401k matching policy needs to be improved.
