Vantaggi

- the hiring process is very straightforward and there are virtually no demands for new hires. If there is an opening, then you will get in even if you don't know anything. - the load is very manageable, so you won't work yourself to death at Rigid

Svantaggi

- when you work for Rigid Building Systems, you work for cheap - absolutely no way to advance in the company. The promotions and raises are virtually non-existent - a lot of shady business going on in the company - you might be working here for years making close to nothing and have new people at the similar position started 50% higher than what you make after all those years of service - the management of RBS is especially bad - they are constantly making the worst possible business decisions

Svantaggi

All of your larger, profitable accounts are already taken by existing sales people. You're going to be scrambling to find smaller contractors and hope you can scrape together a living from it. If you do manage to find some potential customers, but you cannot estimate the job yourself, you have to send it to them estimators upstairs. All of their estimators upstairs are complete nimrods. Your bid will be late, very late. Good luck selling that. Your bid will be significantly overpriced in comparison to every other pre-manufactured metal building company bidding for the same job. If you do sell it, the warehouse screws up your job and you spend an inordinate amount of time trying to fix a problem that should have never happened. Instead of trying to make the most sturdy and cost competitive building, the estimators will model your client a much heavier building and if it sells, then they will actually reestimate the job to make it a much cheaper build for them. They keep all of the extra $. They get paid on this. Your customer pays for steel that they don't get. That's if they even bother to do your bids. And good luck trying to talk to one of them about it. Barely anyone upstairs speaks english. If that wasn't enough, the project coordinators also try to add money to your building. Saying that you or estimating didn't do something right. Of course, you don't want to go to the customer with a change order, so they take it out of your commission. Guess what, they get paid on this too. This company actively tries to keep you from selling. Then they point to people making a bunch of money, who have been there for 20 years, or have been handed massive accounts as being the Benchmark for what you should be able to do. Sorry, nobody's going to hand you accounts. You're not just going to be able answer the phone and take orders. I can't even begin to tell you how many sales I had that I lost because this company takes too long to do everything, they're way too stringent about their payment methods, they refuse to try to build lean yet within the conditions set by codes and loads. If you work with rigid, have a plan to get out of there asap. Let them teach you how the industry works, let them teach you how to use the software, then bolt for a real company.
