It's super easy to get hired as a porter; all you need to do is pass a drug test and a super basic background check. Benefits and PTO kick in at 6 months, with 40 hours of vacation becoming available after 1 year, pending 90-day and annual performance reviews respectively. Higher positions include Lead Porter, also called Training Supervisor, which starts at $12.75/hr, and Porter Supervisor, which starts at $13.25/hr. However, the Riverside is ADA-inclusive and hires a lot of people with intellectual disabilities in back-of-house positions.

The starting wage for a standard casino porter is $12/hr, with a max 36-cent annual raise. This is the lowest on the Laughlin strip. There is little opportunity for upward mobility, with supervisory roles usually only opening up in the event of retirement. (I lucked into my job; my predecessor stepped down due to a disagreement with management over days off, and I was the only person my manager approached who wanted it.) Complaints are rarely taken seriously by management due to clear shift favoritism, leading to low morale and high turnover.
