This is a company that loves clawbacks apparently. There is 401k matching, but with a vesting period of a 3 year cliff. Too bad most people bounce at a year, year and a half. You're an old timer if you've been there over 2 years. I've seen multiple people let go without warning before vesting periods/1 year equity cliff. Also, after finally releasing equity grants (six months after going public), they gladly took half the stocks for 'sell to cover' only to come back a few months later when the stock cratered and asked for more money because the stocks they took 'no longer covered the tax liability'. If you can, get paid in physical cash.
