Diverse and Inclusive Environment: As a non-locals, experienced a very welcoming environment at Respond.io. Contrary to other reviews, I do not understand where non-locals not treated fairly came from. The whole management consist of non-locals, the CEO are South American, the COO looks like from Russia but I think he is Canadian, the CTO is from Pakistan, me? i am from country no one ever heard off, and if you feel you're treated differently, i can assure that its due to your attitude and personality. The whole management is non-locals literally. Commitment to Respectful Workplace: One standout aspect is how seriously the company addresses harassment. Creating a safer environment for everyone, especially women. I've personally felt more secure here compared to previous workplaces. If anyone is unhappy, it is usually those that get kicked out and felt it is an unfair treatment, well, if you stop disturbing ladies all day and focus on yourself, you might actually do well :) Second Chances and Probation Extensions: Respond.io demonstrates a commendable approach by giving employees on probation a chance to improve. I've observed that the management often extends probations for those who might need more time, indicating a willingness to support growth and development. Opportunity for Growth: Joining a startup like Respond.io provides a unique chance for personal and professional growth. The fast-paced nature of the company allows employees to learn and develop alongside it. While it can be challenging, the experience is rewarding, and you evolve with the company. Transparency and Constructive Feedback: The company practices transparency, enabling direct communication with the CEO. The COO, though straightforward, provides valuable feedback without sugarcoating, contributing to personal and professional improvement. Job Security Focus: Job security isn't a concern here as long as employees maintain professionalism. The cultural diversity in the company might be an adjustment for some (Literally more than 20+ different nationalities), but it's essential to remember that we're in a workplace, not a night club to get dates. Competitive Pay and Recognition: Respond.io rewards good performance promptly. Increments are given even before the one-year mark, and the amounts are notably generous. This recognition is a morale booster and enhances job satisfaction. My colleague experienced it just after 5 months in, and the amount, they increase it like no one's business.

Layoff Tantrums Impact on Work Environment: While layoffs are typically linked to problematic behavior, the emotional reactions accompanying these situations can disrupt the overall work atmosphere. Improved management of such incidents could help mitigate these disruptions. Shifting Target Direction: As a startup, Respond.io sometimes shifts its target direction, which is understandable. However, consistent communication is practiced and there's always monthly 1 on 1 to discuss not only about yourself but to hear YOUR feedback about the company and how they can improve as a whole. Very strict on hiring: Since they are a startup and scaling rather quickly, they do not have resources to train fresh graduates or juniors.

- The best salaries and benefits in the market; there are many incentive programs, such as paying multiple extra salaries per year when the company is doing well (2025 was awesome!) - Be ready to grow A LOT. This isn't a place to sit down waiting for someone to tell you what to do. If you see an opportunity to create more value, take it! If you pay attention to how promotions are given here, they are based on who owns more and creates more value over time. (Of course, B players don't see that; they just say, "I worked at Google before, I am better than everyone else, I should have been promoted, this place is toxic," pathetic.) - The company is growing super fast; there are so many opportunities being created daily, so many opportunities to grow both professionally and financially. They just announced plans for global expansion.

- The company has hired B players in the past; they don't last very long, most never past probation. A few are able to hide long enough to stay a year before management finds out, but eventually they are found and dismissed (I am 100% sure all the bad reviews on this site are from those B players who got hurt when they couldn't make it here). - At the early days, their management made some mistakes, hired the wrong people, and that had an effect on morale for a while. I don't know what happened in 2024; all bad people left (I think they were finally fired), and without those people, everything got so much smoother. 2025 was the best year ever; the culture is awesome now!

Promotion here is not about skills, experience, or expertise. It’s all about whether management likes you or not. End of the day, you’ll find yourself managing a team that’s 100 times more skilled than you. The culture is toxic, HR can’t help (they can’t even help themselves), and Slack messages full of demeaning remarks, humiliation, and stolen credit are just everyday things. Work-life balance basically doesn’t exist; you’re expected to reply to chats even on weekends, during sick leave, or on annual leave, and sometimes you even have to answer on behalf of your manager just because he doesn’t feel like it or doesn’t even know what’s being asked la.
