Ross provides valuable training in buying, negotiating, analysis, and time management. I really learned how to think like a merchant. There are career growth opportunities with a lot of internal promotions and career paths in Buying and Planning. There is no work-life balance. This results in long hours and significant stress, impacting time away from work. Could not even take time off for a funeral or a medical appointment without being scrutinized and questioned by HR. Pay is lagging. They promise promotions and pay increases but do not deliver even when they see your results. Management is all over the place, depending on your department. Very inconsistent from one team to another. There are a lot of micromanagers. High Expectations for everything, and they always focus on the negative. There is a culture of tearing down and criticism even when things go right or are successful.
