Vantaggi
I loved working with the residents.
Svantaggi
The upper management of the company is entirely family and many of them were constantly telling me to do specific things that were against Fair Housing Law and treat different residents and prospective residents differently. Which if you've been in property management for any longer than 5 minutes, is totally illegal to do. Specifically I was told that anyone who happened to be of middle eastern descent had to pay an extra $1,000 security deposit. I refused to do anything like that to anyone of any race and the following day was let go because "I didn't know how to do my job". Even though I was bringing over 10 years of very successful big city experience to the table. I believe that they didn't know what they were doing and maybe I should have tried to teach them how the law works. Had I done what they told me to do, I would have ended up being personally sued most likely for discrimination. And I can promise you that they would have denied any involvement and left me in the dust to deal with any of the resulting mess. There is zero room for growth. And if you will allow it, they will work you 7 days a week. Also, being that they are all family, if one of them said or did something wrong, you will have an entire family denying that it happened as well as all of them telling you that it was you who did something incorrectly. Basically a nightmare company to work for in every aspect.
