Vantaggi

None- I was so excited for this experience and it was ultimately horrible.

Svantaggi

My experience at Runwise was extremely disappointing due to poor management, minimal support, and a lack of structure from the start. There was little to no meaningful training or onboarding, which made it difficult to succeed in a role where expectations were not clearly communicated. Rather than providing guidance, feedback, or a plan for improvement, leadership chose to terminate employment after only a short period of time without a clear explanation or constructive path forward. One of the most concerning parts of my experience was the lack of regard for employee safety. I was asked to hand-deliver flyers outdoors for multiple days during extreme winter weather conditions, including during the polar vortex, after I had already expressed concerns about safety. That experience made me feel unsupported and that employee well-being was not being taken seriously. Overall, the environment felt disorganized, reactive, and lacking in the management support needed for employees to feel set up for success. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this role to ask detailed questions about onboarding, training expectations, communication structure, and leadership support.

Vantaggi

This company used to be a great place to work, but honestly there are not enough recent one star reviews to reflect how drastically the working conditions have decreased at this company during the duration of my employment. It’s a shame because I think under the right leadership the product/ concept has enough potential to do very well. Runwise previously had phenomenal reviews, specifically about how incredible the people who worked there were. That was true, the people at this company were some of the best coworkers I’ve ever had. Unfortunately over the course of this year they have either quit or been laid off - losing the very talent that made this company great to begin with.

Svantaggi

It’s a shame to see this company essentially run into the ground. Since raising its Series B, the added investor pressure appears to have pushed leadership to prioritize aggressive growth targets built on overpromised revenue expectations. I have never worked for a more unprofessional company with leadership as immature as Runwise. People have been quitting in droves, and for good reason. Leadership has placed immense pressure on employees to maintain growth without providing meaningful support. Never before have I been driven to tears in the office due to work-related stress. We have experienced leaders swearing at employees during meetings and effectively throwing tantrums when concerns about company culture were raised. Rather than taking ownership of the culture they created, leadership told employees that if they were so unhappy, they should quit—which many have since done. The concerns about company culture stemmed largely from the pressure of trying to scale into a market with a product that was pushed into production too quickly. On the coldest day of the year, our product failed, briefly leaving thousands of New Yorkers without heat. This incident only reinforced employees' concerns about the pace of growth and the lack of support behind it. On top of an already difficult product and market to sell into leadership has been very unprofessional in the payouts to their team. One example of this is deciding to roll back a product that had already been sold to customers- telling AE’s who had already sold the product that they would not receive their well earned commission checks. After backlash, the company walked back on this statement and agreed to pay the commissions acting like they had done the AE’s a favor. Another example of this is a bait and switch around pay structure within internal promotions. If you do end up working for this company get ANYTHING they promise you in writing. Compensation that was promised as part of promotions has been significantly changed with little to no explanation or warning. I've also seen AEs who were promoted internally earn substantially lower base salaries than employees in the exact same role who were hired externally. One of my last warnings to prospective employees there is no support for growing your skills. I have seen many employees get fired if they are not immediately succeeding- I have seen multiple employees be let go in as little as 6 weeks with no coaching of how to improve. If you perform well, you will likely be promoted quickly, which can be great if your primary goal is to build your résumé. The reason for this is that so many people on the team are either leaving or being laid off that the company needs to fill those positions. However, once promoted, there is not much room for further growth. Leadership is also extremely clique-y, so don't expect your opinions to be heard or respected simply because you've moved up. For these reasons, Runwise has lost the majority of the people who made this company successful. I hope my wonderful colleagues who still work there can find new employment as soon as possible.
