Vantaggi

You can smoke weed and pop pills at work. They do not drug test or pay attention to anyone.

Svantaggi

Management goes by the favoritism system.Good wages, hours etc. for their friends and screw everyone else.A revolving door of employees.I saw at least 50 different staff members come and go within the six months I worked there.Servers who are friends with the GM Bridget get their pick of days, hrs, and any dining sections. While others get screwed over and eventually quit after a few weeks. You will never meet the owner Jim Cafarelli and if you do he will snub you.He cares more about his t.v. show(which is unwatchable)than employees.

Vantaggi

Most of the cooks are great people to work with. The money is alright. Scheduling is somewhat flexible.

Svantaggi

Upper management treats employees with absolutely no respect. They want their workers to be obsequious drones. They don't care about you, or how long you stick around, and will do very little to show you that you’re valued as an employee. While they don't offer any benefits at all, they offer a staff meal as a way to keep people happy. This so called meal is really the food that is about to go bad or already has gone bad. The biggest gamble you can make at Rustic Kitchen is not at the poker table, but rather its deciding whether the staff meal is worth the inevitable diarrhea. You can expect no one to ever tell you that staff meal is up, or to never give you a break so you can go eat. When working as a pizza maker, you work in a station where customers can sit and watch you work like a caged animal (some even take pictures without asking). You'll be subject to this scrutiny but don’t expect to receive tips of any kind, there is no tip jar and the customers probably wouldn’t tip anyway. On weekends, they have a cooking show that requires you to completely fill the oven with pizza, and you still have to fit the barrage of other pizza and appetizer orders come in. Some of the employees there are constantly miserable, rude and have no manners whatsoever. Sometimes servers are nice and will politely ask for their orders or for bread. Most of the time however, they will shout “BREAD!” in your face like a jerk. The casino just seems to attract the worst type of customer. Half of the people who show up to eat are using their casino credits to pay for their meals. They often feel entitled to treat everyone like garbage, or are just miserable because they gambled away all of their money. It is almost always the case that people will order three course meals two minutes before close. Have fun waiting 45 minutes past closing time to watch a single person slowly eat their strawberry salad before you can cook their stupid buffalo chicken pizza. There seems to be three types of customers: locals, suits, and people from out of town. The locals are mostly old people who gamble there regularly. They are usually never nice and love watching you make pizza while you sweat like a dog. The suits are people who come in large groups from business meeting. As a pizza guy, they are usually the best customer to hope for since they usually order steaks. I’ve heard they never tip their servers well. Out-of-towners are hit or miss. A lot of them are nice, but the people who regularly travel from casino to casino are usually not so nice. Management deliberately under-staffs and do little to help their employees on some of the busier days. Most of the employees put up with some of mistreatment from management because they want to be in the restaurant industry as a career. You will never receive help at the pizza station when you need it. On weekends, two people are supposed to be working the pizza station because it gets so busy, but people frequently call off or sometimes management doesn’t schedule enough people. They expect you to do the work of two people but refuse to compensate you fairly. Expect to get home an extra 2 hours later than usual, with little sympathy from anyone.
