1)There are lot of office politics due to involvement of Management family in the office. 2) Management Changes the policies without prior notifications. 3) Benefits provided in the offer letter are never applicable and you don't get to have them. 3) There is micromanagement by management and act as if they are too smart than employees. 4) Fires employees every now and then without any prior notice. 5) No specific places to have lunch. 6) Supports family persons over employees even when there is no problem from employee. 7) There is always subjectivity in decision making. 8) Employees are always treated as school children. 9) No refreshment activities available for employees. Treat them as machines who earn money for them. 10) When you ask for some facilities which are basic and needed for employees you will be instant target from that point until you leave or fired. 11) Work from home is mentioned as not there but is provided based on their interests to people. 12) There is no culture in the office. 13) Employees are asked to behave professionally when the other party lacks it.
Vantaggi
1. Rype is run professionally, compared to other companies of similar size. The only family member of the founder working in the company, works like any other employee. This is commendable. 2. Rype is employee friendly company. No one is unduly exploited here. We work for 5 days a week and things like bonds or submitting original certificates etc do not exist, even for the freshers. 3. Rype is a paymaster. Has very good compensation policy. 4. Rype provides travel opportunities to the client locations. I have seen people travel to NewYork, Atlanta and other client locations. 5. Rype has grown from 5 people company to 75 in the past couple of years. That is a very aggressive growth. Needless to say, policies and processes evolved fairly quickly. The early stage employees did not like this, since they are used to a lot of freedom earlier. 6. The management is fairly hands off and expects you to work independently. Some have a problem with this, since they want to be micromanaged so that they can shift the acountability on their manager. This does not work at Rype. 7. Rype has a very clear and transparent compensation and benefit structure. Not a single component there is inflated or dressed up. You have base pay, annual bonus, Insurance, Accidental policy and gratuity for the most part. Some have relocation bonus, as needed. You can be very sure and clear about the money you are going to get. 8. During the phase of aggressive growth people came in for attractive salary packages but did not really have an inclination or skills to work on the amazing tech stack here. Some of them left since they could not cope up with the learning curve. I don’t think any company can keep unproductive people. 9. Rype has good infrastructure. Spacious cubicles, pantry, AC , Parking and every other facility that is generally expected is provided. In fact, recent move to a new office space improved things further. There is a 100+ seater rooftop cafeteria and a 6 seater pantry on the floor. For a 75 people company, this is more than adequate. Also, you are allowed to eat lunch at your desk. Rype provides refreshments and snacks on birthdays and other festivals. Overall a very comfortable work atmosphere. 10. We celebrate festivals, birthdays and also have occasional outings. Management is keen on keeping employees engaged and happy. 11. The fun squad at office ( consisting of a few employees) organize interesting fun activities every now and then. 12. Rype is very objective in policies. Unlike most of the other companies, employees are involved and explained about the policies. The internal employee portal has all the information that an employee needs. Rype does a great job in communication and transparency. 13. Unfortunately some employees take advantage of generosity that management has. I have seen people stretching this to an extreme that management was forced to take tough decisions. But, which company can really entertain freeloaders? 14. Work from home is not allowed since it is a collaborative team structure. Only those employees operating outside of Hyderabad are allowed to work from home, since the only operations office for Rype is in Hyderabad. 15. Rype has a great culture of treating employees like adults. There is not a lot of policy overload here. Employees are expected to be generally conscious of professional behaviors and are corrected where needed. There is no uncertainty or fear here. 16. For a company of its size, Rype does a great job in recruiting people from all over India. The gender balance is great here. 17. If you are really willing to learn, grow and build your career there can not be a better place than Rype. If you want to hang around aimlessly and remain a freeloader, you will not survive here.
Svantaggi
1. In the name of giving another chance or being human, the management tends to give a lot of time and space to toxic people. It impacts the morality of the others. Please slow down on hiring and let go of toxic people quickly. 2. A team lead who could not push even one item into production was given so much of time to mend his ways. This was unnecessary. Fire such people immediately. They spoil the atmosphere in the office. 3. The management is over-accessible to everyone, so people misuse this privilege and escalate unworthy things. This can be stopped. 4. Lot of people can not deal with candor. There is no point in being factual with them and invite trouble. 5. Don’t give chances to unworthy people to lead teams. 6. Do not hire unprofessional people and expect them to change. Most likely they will not. 7. Some snacks for the night shift staff and people working late occasionally would be helpful.
