People were quite team oriented here and "silos" were fairly rare for the most part. Great sense of camaraderie between and within teams.

Horrible work-life balance (this was something that SAP executive management acknowledged was a known problem but I never saw them come out with a actionable solution for fixing this). Company is bloated and seldom culls out the unproductive. Part of this might be due to the German Workers Council's influence. This bloatedness translates into too many stakeholders and inefficient operations. Things move very slowly here. Flat organizational structure translates into a lack of ability to grow a team and promote. Tendency for people to get pigeonholed into a role for many years.
