Vantaggi

One of the best companies I've worked for. The managers are wonderful mentors and experts in their respective fields, they'll support you in your own professional development, teach you important skills, and the company as a whole treats its workers very well. As an aside, you get to work with some great personalities.

Svantaggi

SCA sets the bar high in terms of client expectations, therefor there can be a steep learning curve when you are starting out. Not to worry, once you get used to the work flow, time management, and knowing what is expected of you everything is smooth sailing.

Vantaggi

The starting pay was decent at $19.23 an hour for an entry level job. Although you will take required classes and spend some time reading the SOPs, you will be sent to the field right away to shadow a more experience or senior employee as the ultimate goal is for you to be able to work independently in the field. All 3 managers also have a lot of experience so they make for very good resources should you have a question in the field. The managers also all have their own project managing styles but ultimately, they all push you to succeed.

Svantaggi

Unless you and a co-worker happen to work at the same job site, you don't see your co-workers on a regular basis. You will have to get used to working alone in the field as the general contractors and abatement guys you come across won't be your coworkers. When you are first starting out, the learning curve can be steep as everything can be pretty fast-paced. When things are slow, two things can happen: you would either go to the office and do random tasks or you get told to take a day or even 2 (unpaid days) off. Despite being a full time worker, SCA doesn't wish to pay you if there are no jobs going on and there's nothing to be done at the office. This is understandable but it should have been brought in the original job interview.
