The one and only positive aspect of this company is the colleagues.

Working for this company was an incredibly frustrating, stressing and disheartening experience. The core issue lies in the blatant lack of respect and consideration for employees. Many people operate on the brink of burnout due to the overwhelming workload and poor working conditions. Employees’ skills are undervalued, and decisions are often made arbitrarily, with sudden layoffs happening without any prior notice or explanation. The management is a disaster. Managers are woefully inexperienced and unqualified, often lacking both the education and training necessary to lead teams effectively. This has resulted in years of stalled projects and a general lack of direction within the company. When it comes to workplace safety, standards are often neglected, adding to the overall sense of disorganization and chaos. The treatment of researchers is particularly appalling. They are not regarded as professionals or valued contributors to scientific advancement but rather as mere executors of the orders of a CTO who has no formal background in science. This approach stifles creativity, initiative, and any sense of purpose, making it impossible to feel professionally fulfilled. In short, the company’s culture is toxic, and the environment is so dysfunctional that finding meaning or satisfaction in working here is virtually impossible. This is the last place anyone should consider working.

SCW Systems is een innovatieve organisatie waar écht impact maken centraal staat. Wat ik erg waardeer is de goede balans tussen de technische kant (engineers) en de meer strategisch/organisatorische kant van het bedrijf. Je werkt samen met slimme en gemotiveerde collega’s die allemaal bijdragen aan een groter doel.

Omdat SCW een scale-up is, moet je flexibel zijn en soms schakelen als er een koerswijziging/pivot nodig is. Voor mij hoort dat bij de energie en dynamiek van een groeiend bedrijf, maar wie liever een heel stabiele baan zoekt met een volledig vastomlijnde rol kan dit misschien minder passend vinden.
