1) company’s leadership, especially the US leadership lacks vision and creates a toxic work culture by constantly belittling people in open and yelling at them. 2) the small group of top leaders almost behave like high school bullies colluding with each other 3) you’ll struggle to survive, let alone succeed, if you don’t speak Chinese. 4) Sheins compensation is significantly below industry peers 5) Daily late night calls with the China team mean a non existent work life balance. You are expected to be available at all times, including late night and weekends

Many peers and several frontline managers are genuinely talented, hardworking, and collaborative. Teammates often support one another and help navigate an otherwise disorganized environment. HR representatives based ONLY in the LA office are responsive and appear to genuinely want to help employees. Toronto based HR won't help or do anything.

Divorces and affairs! Little to no clear, consistent feedback or performance guidance. Lack of structure, ownership, and strategic direction across the team. Micromanagement from leaders who lack sufficient context or operational understanding. Favoritism significantly influences decisions, opportunities, and outcomes. Internal politics dominate team dynamics more than performance or results. Speaking up or raising concerns can lead to subtle or direct retaliation. Multiple concerns have reportedly been raised to HR with limited follow-through or resolution. Key HR oversight is remote and appears disconnected from day-to-day realities on the team. Decision-making power is concentrated among a very small number of individuals, despite multiple layers of management. Senior leadership and stakeholders outside the region lack visibility into internal dynamics. Compensation issues occurred, including commissions not being paid as expected. Team culture often feels unprofessional, with excessive emphasis on social events rather than execution.
