I worked for SLAM! for 4 ½ years - starting as an intern, then part-time for a few months, and finally full-time after about 6 months from starting there. In my time, I saw the company change, mold, and adapt as things came up. It was always nice to see that the partners could work together to keep the stress of internal changes at a minimum for the rest of the team.
The partners do work hard to make sure things are running smoothly and are always open to feedback from the team if something just isn't quite working. I've always had a very transparent relationship with them and felt I could talk with them about stresses, workload, salary, etc.
SLAM! is now a fully remote operating team and they work very well remotely. Everyone is responsive and communication has been just as effective from home as it was in the office.
I am super grateful to SLAM! for hiring me out of my internship when I had no industry experience. They were in a growth spurt at the time and actually created my role around me to ensure I could thrive but also help grow the role to it's full fruition.

Being a small team can present workload challenges (staying transparent with the partners can help this though).
