- salary was the biggest issue. Far below market rate and barely ever moved. Uncompetitive with other companies especially in major metropolitan areas. Maybe a disconnect between older employees in smaller markets to how the market evolved over time. I was a bit shocked how unfamiliar they were with the salary gap
- no promotion over years despite being overqualified for my level
- some projects had too many people but I suppose that happens in gov contracting
