- A third of the work is marking SFD and their image. (Site visits from funders, filling out multiple surveys with your class, pulling students out for interviews). This time is not allotted for in the curriculum (and an already tight schedule). Sometimes you may only get one 40 minute period with your class at a time, so it easily eats away at class time. - Really varied experience working at different schools, some are more accommodating to the program than others. Having a consistent space, materials, and actively encouraging students to attend class makes all the difference, and you may not always get that. - Commuting between multiple different sites without a car can be really taxing. I can leave home at 7:30 in the morning and come home at 4pm having only taught for a total of 3 hours at 2 different sites. They teach at a lot of different schools citywide, but be mindful that a lot of their already established sites reside in Harlem, the Bronx and Brooklyn.
