Vantaggi
- Good work/life balance - No stress at work - Good place to learn(and hate) Agile
Svantaggi
- Agile is so important, that each team ends up with useless babysitters (aka scrum master and product owner). STX pushes these positions everywhere they can, as a result, when our scrum master was absent for a few weeks, no one noticed. No need to babysit experienced developers, but client pays - so doesn't matter. - No place to grow - Poor salary - below any market standards. For tester, lowest salary is even lower than minimal wage in Poland. - Almost no home office - 10% a month - No internal trainings, STX's model business outsources developers to the client, having any other hour paid (eg. participating in some conference, internal training for colleagues) is almost impossible. So there's no internal trainings, as people respects their spare time, and no one goes to conferences. Then, instead of using company's experts, STX 'offers' group tickets for some private, outsourced, training sessions. - Within a year, they opened 2 offices, in Łódź City and Gdańsk City. One in Łódź has worst developers I ever worked with, several ones, I worked with at least a dozen. When you throw new technology at your devs you expect them to 'catch up', or at least try to learn it. They attitude was more like 'we cant' or 'we wont'. So client gave up team of 8. What a shame for a company, in last year is more like quantity over quality. - Due to lack of experienced devs, they promote inadequate ones to 'senior' position. Łódź and Piła branches are worst when it comes to it, then closely after - Poznań branch. Wrocław branch is pretty much all right, but as I heard that's branch with highest entry level. Not saying that they are no good seniors, they are, but on the other hand, half of them would end up as regulars in other companies.
