Svantaggi
You are treated worse than a child. It’s such a fear based environment designed to scare you into doing what they say or else you’re fired. Things probably peaked there in 2016/2017 and have been gradually going downhill ever since. They took away the ways we had to make decent money. The chargebacks to your commissions started to increase until finally in 2018, the entire compensation structure changed. All the good managers either quit or just stopped caring. We moved into a new building and next thing we knew, the micromanaging began. They don’t believe any employee who leaves was a good employee. They only lose “bad” employees. That basically only further proves the place is run by narcissists. No good employee would ever leave because of the micro-managing and inconsistent rules. They don’t have enough tech coverage. This causes you to lose deals and/or have to spend hours getting yelled at by customers who can’t get their alarm fixed. They won’t let them out of their contract even if their alarm won’t work and they can’t get a tech to fix it. They expect you to go on google and hire a technician to service their customer. This is 100% truthful. Upper management stays in their offices and rarely show their faces. The VP of collections goes in one of the other executives’ office and just gossips and says really inappropriate things that are unprofessional (employees’ weight, clothing choices, hair style, etc). Complete lack of respect for the staff. Owner wanted to fire managers who failed to drive to work in the snow. They once wanted up to sleep in sleeping bags overnight so we could work in a blizzard. They wouldn’t pay us anything extra. They were giving us vending snacks - that was going to be our reward. They came around with a notepad looking for volunteers, and I didn’t see a single volunteer. They had numerous cases filed with the CT department of labor over illegal wage deductions from employee commissions. If no one complains though, they get away with it. Employees are usually too scared to complain so they just do it over and over again without consequence. They treat their employees with zero respect. It’s pathetic how unethical and immoral they are. A lot of long time employees (5-15 years of service) have quit in the last year or two. They turned into a micro managed place that goes as far to put illustrations on the bathroom stalls telling you how they want you to use the bathroom. They don’t train you on the alarms, but have a tech support department who is great with the alarms. Here’s the kicker; they are too good to talk to customers, and you will get yelled at if you “bother” them. Their current head manager doesn’t know what he’s doing, and is the reason a lot of the good people left there finally quit. He’s shady, and lies a lot. They don’t call people back, and never talk to customers that want a manager. You always have to make up a lie why he can’t talk to the customer, then make up more lies on why he didn’t call back. So you basically spend a good 10 hours a week covering for no shows from techs, no callbacks from top managers, and trying to make up the lost time cause you need to make commissions to make more than minimum wage. The owner uses this structure to basically get free labor. He makes the employees sell products and warranties to make up for the money he pays the employees to help his customers. It’s such a sleezy way to operate a company. The staff doesn’t want to help the customers because they need to sell to make commissions. Then he threatens to fire anyone putting a sale in front of the customer. Can’t have your cell phone visible or you can get fired. Upper management uses their phones for personal use constantly. Real fair company. I could go on and on. This is all 100% truthful.
