Vantaggi
We work really hard to hire great people who work well as a team. Technical skills are obviously important, but Safety Net doesn't hire people based on that alone. In order to work here, you need to be a good cultural fit. This means having a strong work ethic, working very well on a team, and having humility. Those that can't play well with others or aren't willing to put forth their best effort, don't last. As a long-term member of the team, I appreciate that Safety Net is willing to make the hard choices in order to maintain our cohesive team. Management listens when concerns are expressed. As an example, when our weekly on-call rotation got to be too much, we implemented a weekly on-call review so that with input from the person on call over the weekend, we could identify ways to cut down on the volume of alerts. That helped, but wasn't quite enough, so we went to a daily rotation so that our technicians are only on call one day per week and one weekend every 6-8 weeks. That change drastically cut down on the burnout felt by our technicians.

When multiple clients have high priority issues at the same time, things can get stressful. That's really the nature of IT, though. When everyone on the team has a good attitude and works together, we get through the stressful times.
