Extremely poor benefits, no 401k or retirement plan to speak of. A 401k was promiced but the company cant afford it. Insurance was recently downgraded as well. The company is unstable and last November the CEO announced layoffs. The company is still unstable and will not pay for promised trainings and career development. There is zero opportunity for adavancement, they require travel but force you to use your own vehicle and they pay out a small vehicle stipend that does not cover the cost of maintenance. They recently downsized into a building that is too small for the operation to work out of efficiently. The managers are all buddies and in some way related / went to school together. The safety "director" is the son in law of the original founder who sold off the company to a hedge fund. To say management is awful would be giving them a compliment. They have created a toxic and hostile work environment. The ones who get praised are the ones who are perceived to do the most work but in reality they sit in front of a computer all day. They have created a culture of back stabbing. Certain employees spy on the group and report back to their manager, the bad thing is these spies lie. This is the first job in a long long career where it has been necessary to save email communications and document times and dates. Management will lash out and send harshly worded emails at random on insignificant trivial issues. Being called out with the intent of shaming in meetings is fairly common now. Getting emails after meetings telling the group not to discuss problems is also now fairly common. This management group would never make it at a real corporation and this company wont be around much longer. This should be a very good job, but it is unfortunately far and away the worst employer I have ever worked for. I dread going into work and I love my career field. After being with the company since the prior leader stepped down and seeing the slide down hill, I would caution anyone from applying. We have new employees who are already planning on leaving/ turnover has been very high largely due to toxic management. Managers cuss in the presence of clients, and talk inappropriatly , they bash employees behind their back, and belittle employees. You only see them out of their offices two or three time a week. One has a clear complex and should not be in a leadership role.
