Vantaggi
I love working with the Salesfolk team. The community is full of positive people who take their work seriously, but still enjoy goofing around with each other.
The fact that the work is completely remote is huge -- I can complete my projects wherever I please (today I'm working from my home office. Next week, I'll be working from France)!
Svantaggi
This isn't a con for me personally, but it could be a con for people who are accustomed to corporate life: you need to be 1) extremely self-directed, and 2) a very proactive communicator to succeed with Salesfolk. Since the team is small, everyone is busy.
As a new team member, you'll get all the resources and attention you need to ensure you're successfully onboarded. But after that, it's your responsibility to check in with the editor on the status of your project, to let the team know when you will/won't be available for revisions, and to speak up if you have questions or need help. If you can manage these three things, you'll love Salesfolk. If you prefer lots of instructions and hand-holding, this might not be the job for you.
