Working with large enterprise systems in the financial area, makes the company a bit heavy with regards to adopting new technologies in its core systems.
The flat and flexible company structure unfortunately has some downsides as well, as it can sometimes be hard to get certain types of decisions finalised.
The company has an age-old attitude of not really supporting/encouraging participation in education, conferences and user-groups. While this policy has officially changed, the culture is still somewhat prohibitive.
MIddle-management/personel-management/HR is not their strong side, and is mainly handled by employees that are 98% focused on project management (and often still part time developers), and thus give very little priority to managing their staff.
