The people are what make Scheffel Boyle great. From the principals to the admins they are some of the most outstanding people to work with. After one tax season the environment truly is that of a family. Dennis is a dedicated leader who strives to lead the team to the top and fosters an environment of learning and opportunity while truly caring about the employees at every level. It means a tremendous amount for someone to take a moment from their exceedingly busy tax season day to pass knowledge to a young employee and it happens daily. While the best is the standard, I learned that people never rise to low expectations. The admins take great pride in their work and keep the company running smoothly while executing a wide variety of tasks with the utmost attention to detail. The job is definitely what you make it. If you are comfortable as an admin, you can stay in the position and do great things, but if you want to start as an admin and retire from Scheffel Boyle as a CPA after continuing your education, the opportunity is absolutely there as well. In my time at Scheffel Boyle I gained a tremendous amount of knowledge and met great people who have made a lasting positive impact on my life. I would not be where I am today without Scheffel Boyle and it’s employees.

Long tax season hours but it’s great if you want the overtime and opportunity to prove yourself and learn while doing it.

Ownership operates like an older men’s club with outdated values and culture. The organizational structure could be improved, and work-life balance does not consistently align with current workplace standards. Leadership struggles to adapt to current times and resists change. There’s little room for younger employees to learn, make mistakes, and grow the business, which ultimately limits long-term progress.
