There is a real ‘team’ feel to working for SLS which is important when working from home. Regular meetings within your region, at head office and with the whole company give a ‘one team’ feeling. The company directors don’t hide away from the workforce and get involved on all levels and encourage feedback and suggestions from the teams on the ground. The role itself is rewarding as a lot of the time you are developing provisions to the local community to increase all sorts of opportunities whether this be sport, drama, education based.

The only really con for me is the fact that managers are always contactable, and often you’ll be receiving phone calls late at night and over the weekend. Unless on annual leave it’s difficult to fully switch off. That been said there is some flexibility to get some time back around your work. On top of this I’m aware that solutions are been looked at to address this.
