5 years ago, I joined Scitech for a year-long placement as a process engineer. This was an internship scheme as part of my university degree to gain experience working in an engineering firm. I chose Scitech due to my interest in the pharmaceuticals sector and background. During my time there on placement, I was able to gain invaluable experiences working on a variety of projects with subject-matter experts in various fields in the life sciences and biopharmaceutical sector. Scitech also valued that I was still a university student so looked out for me by providing me with vast experiences working on various projects so I could get the most out of my placement. Even though the end of my placement was affected by the pandemic, I was still kept on until the end of my placement and given regular project work where possible. Years later, I had been working on some other graduate jobs since finishing university but had still not found something I truly enjoyed. A few months ago, I was approached by a colleague I worked with about a vacancy in their process engineering team. I thought it was too good to be true but here I am back at Scitech working a permanent role as a Process Engineer. The company hosts an amazing culture and everyone is super friendly and always willing to help. The work is challenging but very interesting and especially relevant with new technological and industrial challenges today.

No copy and paste projects. - Very family oriented. Most staff (including senior management) understand the strains and unpredictability of having children. The company is flexible and understanding of this, and is more focused on ensuring the work gets done, as opposed to ensuring that someone is sat in front of their desk between 8 - 5. - Flexible days in the office. - A huge array of certified professionals with decades of experience and knowledge who are eager to train the younger staff. - Scitech is very focused on being the place that people want to go to work, and are constantly looking at ways of improving the employee experience. This is however tightly balanced against the goals, and objectives of the company.

- There is an age and ethnicity gap in the company, however the company is actively recruiting to fill these gaps. - Some of the software that the company uses is outdated and can cause some processes to take longer than necessary. - There are some internal procedures which need to be updated, as things can be done inconsistently from project to project, which can make reviewing work and quality assurance procedures unnecessarily difficult.
