This company suck. Corporate are run by apes,CEO tried to save it but to little to late. Sears is going bankrupt. I was a Operations Manager. They have 5 District manager for each district who never see eye to eye and each one tells you to do something and then the other tells you its wrong. Hours for hourly associates are continuously cut. They call it "saving payroll" Manager are expected to work 6 days a week 50-60 hours a week. Every single holiday is blacked out meaning you cant get time off. From September to January is blacked out. They took away associate discount and decided giving SYWR points is a great idea instead. They have 2-4 conference calls a day where the district managers do nothing but talk down to everyone in the district. They threaten managers with being fired. HR is a joke, no matter how many complaints are made HR just sits by idol while acting like they care.They push Shop your way rewards very hard, They expect 85% f their shoppers to leave a member, Credit cards is the most important thing to this company. If you dont hit your goals every day then tell managers to cut hours or not schedule associates till they can get their numbers up. A customer may only want to be a $10 pair of socks that should be a quick 2 minute transaction but instead associates have to try to enroll the customer in shop your way rewards-if you luck enough to succeed with that then you have to try and cram a Store card or a Sears Master card down the customers throat all this taking a simple 2 minute transaction to a 10 minute fiasco. Hourly associate make minimum wage, those on commision get their checks cut this is called "payback" for not selling enough. Appliance associates are expected to get SYWR, a credit card application or lease plan approved, then try to sell a 3 or 5 year warranty, then on top of that, shopping recaps where sears send you a billion email trying to get you back into the store. Then there is Member engagement where you have to enter in emails and phone numbers with the product info they were interested in, this way sears can send you endless emails about junk you "might" want to buy.Manager are over worked, vacations are grudgingly approved. Management works every holiday and weekend. Management are required to write up hourly associates for the most petty stuff, not getting credit cards or shop your way rewards. Hourly associates are constantly threatened with getting hours cut or even fired unless they dont get rewards or credit cards. Sears does not care about the customers, they care about metrics. Managers feel all district does is belittle and beat you down. Hourly associates feel like managers are raging jerks who hammer credit cards down their throats and cut hours. Loss prevention doesnt stop shop lifters, they are told to catch associates, Sears appliance delivery service is down right aweful. They are late to appointments, or they dont show up. They drop and damage merchandise, they damage customers homes. Sears does everything they can to not honor a warranty, infact unless you buy a Protection Agreement or a Service Protection plan sears will do everything they can to avoid honoring their 30 day return policy or manufacture warranty. Its a horrible company to work for, The turnover rate is unbelievable at the hourly, management and corporate levels. Ineventory counts are always wrong, Backroom associates have to scramble around the whole store to look for items that a customer buys online. Then when they cant find the item or realize the item is out of stock they have to say "no" to the order. When this happens Managers are told to go and "coach" ie chew out the associate who said no.Sears has got to be the worst company in America to work for. The best thing Sears can do right now is close its doors. Do not work here, run run and dont look back. There is no work life balance. Got a wife and kids, your screwed your kids will never see you and your marriage will suffer greatly. Dont waste your time with sears...what kind of company needs 4-5 district managers...its bonkers
