One of the great reasons for working for Sears Holdings is gaining the experience as a sales person. I know a lot of other jobs look for applicants who have a little sales or customer service experience and Sears was definitely a great place to start and build that experience. The workplace was a very relaxed atmosphere but can become very competitive with other employees, since it is commission based pay. Management worked with students for scheduling them hours and worked around your school schedule. This is a great place to give you the first step, but definitely not for a career.

I'd say the only issues were just dealing with other employees and their sneaky and shrewd tactics at stealing other associates' sales. Like I said, Sears is commission based pay so you basically have to sell or you get paid very little. If you don't sell enough, they actually take out of your paycheck, which is kind of irritating considering the fact that we only get maybe 1% commission off a sales item. maybe the highest percent commission on an item I believe was 8%, but that was for like a vacuum bag. It's a dog eat dog world in sales.
