You need thick skin to survive. Cross-departmental projects are dreadful due to a lack of urgency and poor communication between parties. Requests are only fulfilled after you remind/nag coworkers on updates because their workload is too high, their priorities are elsewhere, and you are just another annoying distraction. The funny part is that you are in the same situation; drowning in work yet at a standstill due to frequent cross-departmental traffic jams.
