Vantaggi
The service SenText provides really IS great for merchants, but this is a review about WORKING for the company.
Svantaggi
They will "hire" everyone who applies. They have to because there is an 80% turn over rate in the first year. (As stated by upper management on a conference call.) That being said, TAKE THIS POSITION IF YOU... * Don't want any health benefits or 401K * Don't want to be reimbursed for mileage or expenses. They promote an "Expense program" but it has nothing to do with expense reimbursement and you only get it if you sell a minimum of 2 deals per month. That's NOT an expense program. *Don't want good training or to know how to work the dashboard that our customers use to send out their texts BEFORE you start selling. *Want to risk getting a manager who is inattentive, It's a crap shoot. *Want to process paperwork and get new accounts built for your customers that consistently contain spelling errors or errors in the image SenText provides to customers. * Want all of those mistakes to be responded with "Oops! Human error!" * Want to call in for help and have the phone answered by someone who doesn't say their name and greets you as if you are bothering them. Take this position if you want your valid suggestions for improvement to fall on deaf ears. Take this position if you can wait for months or even years to make a living wage. That residual chart they show new people is filled with potential... not actual numbers and those number are pre-tax. It takes a long time to make real money. Take this position if you like your compensation plan to be changed ever few months and usually with an element that is detrimental to your pay. Take this position if you want random fees tacked on to your compensation... like getting $5 deducted from your pay EVERY time they pay you or an automatic $159 deducted from your pay at the beginning of EVERY month for a "Maintenance" fee. (They have now removed that $5 payment fee, but that lasted for over a year and who knows what they will do next. Agents can get paid a very small amount up to 20 times per month, so that $5 hit really added up!) Take this position if you want to listen to executive on the weekly conference call calling people out by name and degrading them, telling you there is only one way to do things... his way... and promoting each an every idea presented (no matter how ridiculous) as a "game changer" every single week. Take this position if you want to work for a company that give ZERO support after 5:30 pm EST on weekdays... no evening or weekend support and if you live on the west coast... that means no help after 2:30pm every day. Take this position if you are ok with a high number of your customers cancelling service with you (reducing your residual pay) very frequently. SenText advertises a 2% cancel rate, but doesn't clarify 2% in what timeframe... weekly? Monthly? It's high and no matter how good your personal customer service is... some merchants just don't do the minimal needed to succeed and then cancel. You'll see this in many of these reviews. Take this position if you believe that store and restaurant owners are sitting behind the counter in thier stores just waiting to set appointments with salespeople that walk in. I have heard this on conference calls more times than I care to talk about. That is not the case. Take this position if you want, but my advice is to just start as a side hustle first, so you will really see the truth before going all-in. It really is a great service for businesses. It's just a good company to work for.
