Vantaggi
Fair salary- probably to retain staff for the work that we have to do Office hours
Svantaggi
Left with no choice but to stay after hours with no OT pay and move furnitures for their new clients (heavy large meeting room tables, chairs and cabinet). You’re in full corporate attire btw. Climb ladders to change ceiling lights almost everyday. Managers says that we’re helping with the P and L so they don’t have to hire movers or electricians to help with this. Prepare food after hours at home for events in the office and bring it to the office the next day, bulky bags, public transport, morning rush and crowd. When we can literally order instead. Once again to cut cost. Get down literally on the floor to assemble wiring and trunking for clients. Company charges the clients perhaps $32 and we only take 10% of it. Like $3.20. And they get the remaining 90%. For something they didnt even do, we only get 10% of what we charge clients hahaha. Even the clients asks, why are we the one who’s doing all this? Once again with full corporate attire, on the floor. Managers literally do so much mistake and we get blamed for it. But when we make a mistake they will talk you down like its something big. Rather then quickly solving the problem, they will go one big round with guilt tripping before finally resolving the problem. Fyi no bonus. They call their incentive scheme a bonus. How it works is for everything that a client tasks you to do. For example: mailing a document overseas, we charge them (example) $100. Every month you will have a target to hit. Perhaps $5,000. From all the tasks a client assigns you to do. If you hit 5k above you get 10% of it which is $500. So you will be paid this “bonus” every quarterly. Example: Jan-March you hit target of 5k each mnth, you get 500 each month. You will be paid on the 4th mnth a lum sum of 1.5k for the 3 months that you hit target. Looks enticing but if you do the math, 1.5k x 3 = 6k And this is not even a bonus its an incentive that you had to work for. In the outside world many other company will give you the same amount for once a year bonus. Without having to do things like this that is not even in your jobscope. When I resigned, the manager talked to me and told me how am I going to survive in another company if I cant handle it here? First of all, she don’t know a thing about me. Second of all this wasnt my first job. Literally I’ve been in bigger companies than this hahahaa. Lastly, I’m in a company that’s a thousand times proper, better and offers so much more and who actually cares about their employees. On top of that, a higher salary as well. Fyi, during her care, im the 5th employee who resigned. I stayed for a good 3 months. Before me, one even left during lunch on her first day and didn’t return. Another stayed less than a week. Definitely the company loves the manager because she generates money for them. She does that very well but at the expense of her employees. But in reality, no one can deal with her. Everyone wants to leave because of her and the working style there. She just doesn’t know it. Place full of gossips, drama and work I didn’t signed up for. So much happier after I left and with my new company now. Happy I made the right decision to quit. Proceed with caution but you will only truly understand when you’re working there and 2/3 mnths in. Its either they change the manager there, working style, or both. Then perhaps things will be better.
