This was one of the most challenging work environments I’ve experienced, primarily due to structural and management issues.
1. Lack of middle management
There is a noticeable gap between junior employees and senior leadership. Many employees leave within 1–2 years, while others remain long-term in upper management roles. This creates a disconnect, where leadership may lack visibility into day-to-day team challenges and employee experience.
2. Management concerns
I experienced inconsistent communication and limited support from my direct manager. At times, expectations were unclear, and there was a lack of adaptability despite working in a market research environment that should value new ideas and evolving perspectives. This made it difficult to do my job effectively and grow in the role.
3. Frequent organizational changes
The company frequently shifts direction, sometimes multiple times within a year. While iteration can be positive, the lack of stability and follow-through made it challenging to execute work consistently.
Overall, I found the environment to be under-stimulating and difficult to navigate, and I would encourage candidates to ask detailed questions about management structure, team support, and long-term direction before joining.
