Incredibly discriminatory towards females. Preach a lot about diversity and gender inclusion however either tries to meet quotas to hit diversity requirement and consistently puts females in "token" positions or uses them as a commodity rather than individuals with talent. Still very much the good ole boys club. Have also seen terrible decisions by management. The company continues to put profit and stock price ahead of people, until they figure out that people are the biggest asset this company has they will have incredibly high attrition, turnover, and will be just like the rest of corporate america that treats women and minorities with no respect. Women are underpaid as with the rest of America. Work life balance from manager training program on up is terrible. What corporate speaks about to what is actually executed by leadership in the field does not match. Has potential to have a great culture if there were managers who cared more about people than the bonus they make. What Cleveland corporate training teaches vs what district management and VP of sales actually carry out do not match at all.

A positive work environment. The best co-workers I have had so far in my career worked with me at Sherwin. I also worked under an amazing management team. There is a lot of room for career growth. I worked for Sherwin for about 3.5 years. I started as a contracted lab technician, then I was hired full time as an R&D Associate Chemist. I quickly worked my way up to R&D Chemist within a year of being hired full time. The department I worked in was very fast paced, however, I know there are many other groups that move at a much slower pace with longer timelines. This would make it much easier to manage the workload.

Working with marketing was challenging at times. We would regularly receive big requests a day before they needed something. This would pose a challenge when you had other priorities to attend to. The pay was average. I do think it could have been slightly higher for all of the job responsibilities given to the chemists in my group specifically. The workload was overwhelming at times.
