Companies sometimes have odd uniform item requests (polo shirts, bow ties, vests, tux pants, tux jackets "dark sneakers with no logo" and if you were to pick up one of those shifts, you must pay for those items. So just know that before you accept a gig.
In NYC, demand is VERY high. If you get a ping on your phone, you have literally about 10 SECONDS to respond. Expect only 2-3 shifts week at the maximum, unless your schedule is 100 percent clear and you can sit by your phone.
