As a flat organisation we definitely don’t have any traditional working hours and most definitely support a healthy work-life balance, sometimes too much, so we’d love to know how this has been interpreted in this instance. Perhaps a clearer communication to the team is due, which is something we’ll look into for the next All-hands. Our team is extremely transparent and supportive where possible, so it’s a shame you felt differently in this respect and perhaps we should have listened (and acted) more on your behalf. We all enjoy some banter and share opinions on how things should work or what we need to work on – and that won’t go away, it’s what we do. We’ve since implemented an improved chores bot in Slack that assigns tasks for each person to complete a day, and taking out the trash is one of them, so we expect to see a huge improvement there. To our knowledge, we treat everyone equally–whether it’s for good or improvements in performance. Likewise for recognition when it’s due. Sorry that you felt differently about working at Shootsta, and we wish you all the best for the future.
