Vantaggi
* Very intelligent and talented software engineers * Interesting and niche functional programming technologies * Remote worker friendly (but what company isn't after Covid?)
Svantaggi
* Very low quality code base considering the quality of the engineers involved. Years of mistakes and tech debt piled on top of each other, resulting in poor architecture, cascading performance problems, and low morale. * Terrible leadership. Completely lacking in empathy and care for their employees. Long hours, high stress, and below average salaries. Some directorate-level members of leadership can be outright hostile when receiving any form of criticism, no matter how carefully or politely it is phrased. * Silly, obtuse "woke" corporate culture that panders to ideologues and vapid trends. They'd rather lecture you on "equity" (not equality) than make any real attempt at fixing actual problems at the company. * Office politics are the primary factor that determines who climbs the ladder. This is not a culture of meritocracy. It's entirely about who you know and how you play ball. * Overall, a terrible place to work if you value your own sanity and happiness from day to day, especially if you're a Veteran. SimSpace is chummy with some of the worst actors in the cyber security sector and the defense contractor/military industrial complex space. They care about you only in terms of what they can extract from you and no more. Profit-over-people is the name of the game.
