If you are a conveyancer and you are considering applying here, I would urge you to do yourself a favour and keep looking. Firstly, the workload here is truly relentless. The workload is not capped, and it never has been, so even when you hit your 'capacity', the files will just keep coming until you hit breaking point. If you are looking for work-life balance, then you definitely won't find that here. The amount of work that we are given can only realistically be done if you worked a 10 hour day, 7 days a week. You can expect to work weekends to get everything done, and say goodbye to your social life. The workload continues to pile on as more and more colleagues are medically signed off for stress every week. There is zero consideration for balancing caseloads, so you are constantly forced to cover other people's files whilst getting no support for your own. Instead of managing the capacity, they will just pass the work onto whoever is left standing. You will always feel one step away from burning out. The exec team simply don't care about their employees, the only ones they care about are their agents and referrers. There have been numerous times that agents have lied about the conveyancers, and the management have believed them without a second thought. The level of micromanagement in this respect is unbelievable. You are expected to call clients multiple times a week or more often if it is required by the estate agent, update agents immediately whenever they want and as often as they want, and if they tell you they want a file exchanged before the end of the month, then you will need to defy the laws of space and time to get it done. If you don’t, expect to be bombarded with calls emails every 10 minutes, thrown under the bus by the management, and complaints coming in left right and centre. You will literally be pushed to your breaking point by your own senior management for not being able to get exchanges done and they will not hesitate to make your life a living hell until you get it done. For most, crying daily is the norm. It also seems very coincidental that after a number of truthful and accurate negative reviews, that all of a sudden 1 or 2 very positive reviews have popped up on here praising the company... Simply Conveyancing has been the most soul destroying firm I have worked for. If you truly value your mental health and professional development, I would steer clear.
