All of the amazing people I've met left within a year due to the toxic nature of this company. They preach transparency and feedback, but they treat everyone like they are replaceable. There is 0 investment in career development or growth. They have a transparent salary policy to avoid discrimination, but it's so that you cannot negotiate your salary. The salary you come in with will barely change no matter how many roles you take on, there is no cost of living raise, and there will always be staffing issues. You will have to fight to ever get your bonus paid, or any information on what metrics the bonus is based on. You will be told there is a set career ladder for promotions, but that only exists for support, everyone else is left in the dark about what they need to do to grow their career. When I've voiced issues I've been told, it's in my head or I should work harder. However, when I get so exhausted I want to quit, I'm told I should have raised the issue instead of working to the point of burnout. Overall, this job made me question my competence, stall my career, and not want to get out of bed knowing I'd have to log in each day. The mission is amazing, but the culture and business practices make it difficult for anyone who cares to survive here.

Team leads actually wants to listen to you

The issue isn’t with the team or the team leads,it’s with leadership. They only seem to care about themselves. Our year end reviews, which should have been completed at the start of the year, didn’t happen until May. Our bonuses are supposed to be distributed after performance reviews, but leadership keeps delaying that process. They’ll even dock you for the most trivial reasons just to avoid paying out. And mind you the bonuses are around $300–$400 to begin with. There’s also something off about the CEO. He constantly talks over people when they’re answering his questions, comes across as rude, and definitely shows signs of founder syndrome. I watched him push out two of the most respected leaders in the company simply because they stood up for the team. The company advertises an “unlimited vacation policy,” but they’ll turn around and fire you for using it. Raises? Basically nonexistent. You can work here for years and still not see a salary increase. Honestly, you’d probably earn more and be treated better working at your local McDonald’s. No exaggeration.
