Vantaggi
Cross training is implemented here which is great in such a small business because everyone chips in and helps one another without question. Staff is friendly and small which creates a family oriented vibe. Formal training period is held to a very high standard and plenty of time is given to feel comfortable in your role until you're on your own. There is always an employee available to ask questions to and no one ever makes you feel uncomfortable for needing their assistance. Beautiful establishment with hour lunch breaks provided daily. The break room is a huge, fully updated kitchen with an oven, stove, microwave, dishwasher etc. Dr. Fiona is brilliant and the work that she does is not comparable to any other that I have seen. Working and learning from her was definitely a pro. She stays very busy, so confrontation with her is to a minimum...(see cons for more on this). Christina, the office manager, is very professional and drama free. She was very understanding to some of my personal issues I had while working at Skin Md and Beyond. She is consistent with all employees and their needs and she does not favor anyone. Pay structure is very good and competitive. Dr. Fiona is generous to her employees; she does not go above and beyond to show appreciation, but she is generous nonetheless. She is humble, and kind, and she does not push products, treatments, or procedures onto her patients and does not want her employees to do so either.
Svantaggi
No PTO for part time employees. No health insurance offered or any benefits other than one free treatment a month and free injectables after a certain amount of time of employment ( but this is also a pro!!!). Not a lot of positive feedback, mostly negative, if any. Also, being scrutinized for the smallest mistake on a daily basis is common. Dr. Fiona is very busy, so confrontation with her is to a minimum.... BUT, confrontation with her is usually public. Meaning, you will be confronted about an issue in front of other employees and patients being put on the spot and not in a professional manor or in an office. With this being said, she always had valid points and what needed to be discussed was of importance, but your own personal opinion is not often validated. So learning to bite your tongue is almost necessary in this establishment. Calling in sick requires a doctors note which is not considerate in the fact that health insurance is not provided. Not everyone can afford to see a doctor when they're not feeling well, sick, or just need some time to sleep it off. Slightly understaffed, so like i stated before that everyone is cross trained, which is a good thing in my opinion, can also make it difficult to complete your task in a timely manor because you may be completing many other things outside of your job description as well.
