Vantaggi
Remote working and the ability to work as much or as little as I would like. I really enjoy the work, the clients and the flexibility.
Svantaggi
Sometimes the workload can be very heavy.

I worked at Smart-HR in Rochester for four months. The work was so easy it was laughable. When I politely asked for more to do, I was told that I had to stick to the menial tasks in my role or else. Like most corporate offices, each employee jealously guarded their duties and was hostile to any outsiders. Most of the people had been working there for the majority of their lives and expected nothing less of me as a new employee. I would get dirty looks as I left at 5pm because most everyone else stayed until at least 9pm every day. The office environment is extremely unhealthy and full of genuine workaholics. You'll enjoy lots of perks in this company such as free catered lunches many times a month, free baseball tickets, free bagels and coffee, and use of the company cars for company business. But you earn it with the price of your soul, for this is soulless work, and everyone who works here has sold their soul to the devil of corporate business. You'll make great money but you'll never have time to spend it (and most of it will go towards paying your ridiculous health insurance premiums).
Svantaggi
Smart-HR follows the structure of holacracy, where everyone is supposedly equal and helps everyone do everything. This was what originally drew me into the company, but it proved to be absolute crap. When I asked if I could take on other roles, I was deemed "not a good fit" for the company and fired less than a day after I made my concerns. There is zero opportunity to grow in this company. Once you are assigned a role, you are stuck with it until the day you die, whether you like it or not. Voice any concern you may have and they don't care. No opportunities for raises or bonuses, and all health insurance is employee paid. Don't let the faked kindness of the CEOs deceive you. You are nothing but a number, and the minute they feel like you aren't "a good fit" for the company, they will kick you out with no warning. I was told at 4:40pm that I had to have everything cleared out of my desk by 5pm. I asked for references and was told to shove it. The people who had worked beside me every day for four months didn't even bother to say goodbye. Tell this company goodbye before they do it to you.
