Upper management don't care about its employees nor do they recognize talent and use it to their advantage. Management team spends more time arguing about who should be accountable for certain business processes (or lack thereof) rather addressing the real problem of operational and development inefficiencies. There is no transparency, no accountability, and zero employee morale. People from top to bottom are leaving the firm on a monthly basis and the management can't figure out how to stop the bleeding. SmartStream fun fact: some of the key people who tried to make a difference have all left the firm in the last 18 months. I feel bad for the few smart, driven, and talented people left in the firm that are trying to do good work.

Since this is a British company we get excellent vacation and PTO. You get 20 days of vacation every year which can be taken anytime and the global HR from Bristol ensures that all employees are given their time off. I was in the Jacksonville, Florida office so my experience is based on that branch. Company wide policy states that we are suppose to work 2 days onsite and 3 day remote however this is rarely followed. I worked at SmartStream for 3 years and depending on the team you are assigned too you'll get a different experience. My teams FEMS (Fees and Expense Management Solutions) did not allow working remotely except on Mondays and it was very difficult to request any remote work. Other teams in the same office like Collateral, etc. were almost fully remote with them barely coming onsite with some people only working at the office once every 6 months. In fact for the 3 years that I was there I would say that other than our section (Expense Fees and Management) the office was completely empty most of the time. They also sponsor you for trips to other branches around the work like our Bangalore Branch and London.
