Not allowed work/life balance. KPI's are pushed more heavily than any other retail job I have been in. They expect you to push sales onto and upsell children. Upper management are disrespectful and abuse their power often. Do not comply with fair work obligations but the company is so big that it's hard to do anything about it. They have no HR department and you are obligated to CC your regional manager into any emails you send to their 'People Support' line, otherwise they will send it to your regional manager anyways. They have their own internal clocking system and will edit your timesheets to pay you less if you've clocked out 5 minutes late due to doing mandatory tasks for after the store is closed (banking, shutting down POS, etc.) and they will chastise you for not showing up to your shift early despite not being paid for it. I have never seen a manager last in their role for more than 4 months at a time. I have seen several managers in the past 3 months completely ghost the company and their store after their induction shifts. They also only hire women? Terrible company (The Just Group) - do NOT work here or quit as soon as possible afterwards if you can.

Friendly atmosphere, lot of importance to child friendly workplace health and safety.

Blind eye to specialised masters IT degrees and prior SCM work experience which some of their retail assistants have from their past. Too much store politics and favouritism. Unequal expectations from newer and older employees at same level. “Drop and serve customers first” rule doesn’t apply to older employees, only expected out of newer employees even if they are doing multiple tasks. Intimidating way of telling mistakes which were made unknowingly. Makes you dull for the rest of the shift. Some older employees say they are fixing the back room but are actually not, just taking breaks, leaving you alone on the shop floor.
