SoCalGas has an amazing, family-like culture where colleagues truly look out for each other. The executives are supportive and truly have the interests of employees at heart. I have never been at a company with such a positive working environment, and it makes sense that most people are extremely tenured-- there is no reason to want to leave! There is a strong focus on diversity and inclusion, and hard workers are given many opportunities to grow in their career here.

The company is primarily comprised of long tenured employees, though that has been shifting in the past year. The long tenure combined with the industry (regulated utility) means that change comes slowly. The new CEO is working to create more of a culture of innovation
