After a while you stop trying to contribute ideas or figure out better ways to do things because what's the point when every suggestion gets picked apart anyway. I watched people leave because they couldn't handle the constant checking-in, the emails asking where you are and what you're working on, the meetings about why you didn't do something the exact way they imagined it. It's exhausting being treated like you're incapable of basic judgment.
