Thank you for taking the time to share this. We're glad the team culture and benefits are coming through. Those really matter to us. We want to address the feedback directly. We do have clinical standards and a defined practice model, and we recognize that the level of attention we give to how therapy is delivered can feel like micromanagement, particularly during the early stages of learning our approach. Our intention is always development, not control, and we take seriously any feedback that the line between the two isn't landing clearly. On scheduling: evening hours through 9pm are part of our prime-time structure and are disclosed before hiring. We know it's not for everyone, and we appreciate clinicians who are upfront with themselves about whether that fits their life. Billing and client communication are handled almost entirely by our administrative team that's intentional, so clinicians can stay focused on clinical work. There are occasional situations where a client isn't responding to our admin staff, since they are not live at the office, and we ask the therapist to step in. We understand that this can feel like an added burden. We appreciate the advice about grey zones. Good therapy rarely fits neatly into black and white, and neither does good supervision. We'll take that to heart.

Vantaggi

The culture here is honestly one of the biggest positives. The owner is warm, approachable, and genuinely tries to work with employees while still keeping things ethical and consistent for clients. There’s a real effort to balance flexibility with maintaining standards, which I appreciate. The intake process also does a good job of matching therapists with the kinds of clients they actually want to work with, which makes a huge difference long term. The practice offers things like CEU stipends, bonuses, and student loan assistance, which helps people feel supported professionally and financially. There are also a lot of small culture things that make the environment feel more personal — team lunches, bonding events, birthday/work anniversary lunches with the owner, etc. It doesn’t feel overly corporate. The protocols and metrics can feel like a lot sometimes, but they do make sense overall and are clearly connected to consistency of care, client support, and determining bonuses/benefits.

Svantaggi

Sometimes communication around policies or requests can feel a little overwhelming because there’s such an effort to explain the reasoning behind everything. I appreciate the transparency, but occasionally it can feel like hearing all the reasons something might not work before fully hearing whether it actually could.

Vantaggi

- Team meetings provide opportunities for discussion and updates.

Svantaggi

- Owner is a chronic micromanager and can be critical of personal appearance. - Constant stress to meet metrics; practice heavily focused on numbers. - If clients cancel or no-show, therapists are made to feel responsible and may receive reduced pay, despite the practice charging full fees. - Compensation package can be misleading; take-home pay ranges lower than advertised ($40–55k provisionally licensed, $55–60k fully licensed). - Monthly pay schedule makes managing bills difficult. - Required evenings and at least one weekend day can be draining. - Therapists have little to no autonomy in their work. - Supervision is not constructive; focuses more on psychoanalyzing staff than offering guidance. - Difficulties with clients are framed as “learning opportunities” rather than validated. - Team meetings, while potentially enjoyable, are mandatory and can feel like interrogations if you cannot attend.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We take all feedback seriously, and we want to be honest with anyone considering joining our team about what working at Solid Foundations Therapy is really like. We are a niche practice with a defined clinical approach, and we are intentional about that. Therapists who join us receive training in our model/style and there are many ways to practice well within it. We do hold high clinical standards because our clients deserve quality care, and because we want our therapists to grow, earn well, and build something sustainable here. When someone is struggling to meet expectations, including the metric standards that we set, our first response is always coaching. While I can understand that it can feel like micromanaging at times our goal is always to ensure that the therapist is successful and the client is getting what they need. We look at what's happening, what the therapist needs, and how we can help. On compensation: our structure is fully disclosed before any offer is made — hourly per session plus administrative time, with bonus opportunities. Advertised ranges reflect therapists meeting the standard expectation of 20–25 clients per week. We are transparent that building a full caseload takes time, particularly for provisionally licensed clinicians, and we support that process. Additionally, when clients are charged for late cancellations or no-shows, therapists are paid for those hours and they count toward their weekly caseload metrics. Scheduling does include 15 prime-time hours per week, typically 2 evenings and weekend day, because those are most in demand times. This is communicated clearly before hiring so candidates can make an informed decision about fit. Our supervision model covers case consultation, clinical tools, and self of the therapist work. We aim for supervision to feel like a place to learn, gain support and growth but understand that not all feedback always feels great. We are not the right fit for every clinician, and we respect that. But if you are looking for a practice that takes clinical excellence seriously, invests in your development, and genuinely wants you to succeed — we'd love to talk. Reach out to us directly and we’d be happy to address any concerns.
