Vantaggi
I love working at Soroco (not being paid to say this!). Some of the best things here are: - Great company culture. There is no concept of "seniors" and "juniors" and everyone even on the senior management level is quite humble and down to earth. Even as a beginner employee, my opinions were always heard. The people in this company are truly a charm and make working everyday a breeze. Everyone is always very happy to make time in their busy day to help you out. - Responsibility. I joined as a software engineer with no experience and even then was given important responsibilities. This allowed me to grow and learn in immense amounts. When you are given responsibility, there is no micro-management or any such thing which makes it a very very positive work culture. - Work from home. Soroco has not mandated anyone to return to the office and we will still function fully remote. This is a great boon, that anyone will understand! The offices in Bengaluru are always open and anyone can drop in anytime. - Positive environment. I cannot stress this enough, but the people at Soroco are what make working here the best. I have not experienced a single instance of toxic culture of any sort. Every single person is always ready to help and do not let their ego get in the way. I can offer suggestions to someone 4 levels higher than me, and they will actually listen and not steamroll my ideas. - Timings. There are no fixed timings here and it is quite flexible. I find as long as I am able to get a days' worth of work done, and attend any meetings, no one has any issues with when I work. Signing in late, or signing off early is perfectly acceptable. Having flexible timings allows us to concentrate a lot more on work while also managing other aspects of personal life. - Meeting culture. There are no unnecessary meetings, and most are set to cover only important topics. This reduces wastage of time and is great for productivity. - Leaves. We get about 20 earned leaves per year + some sick. Never have I been denied a leave application as long there is some prior notice to plan around it. - Work life balance. You set your own hours, and if you feel overloaded, the management is always ready to hear you out and redistribute work. I find this great for work life balance as I am never expected to reply or work beyond my regular hours. No time have I been forced to stay late to finish some work or come in on a weekend for work. The company understands that people are important, and very rarely did I ever have to stretch late or on weekends. In the very rare case that we worked late into the night or on a weekend, we are always given a compensatory off. - Career growth. Soroco is a growing company and there is great opportunity for growth here.
Svantaggi
- Salary. I find that the salary here is quite average for new hires. Higher compensation would help bring and retain better talent for longer. - Non-work activities. There are no non-work-related activities here at all. Having some fun sessions, team outings, regular gifts from the company, would go a long way in boosting team morale.
